Duke hosts Xavier in big No. 3 vs. No. 4 matchup tonight

Duke coach Joanne P. McCallie has been serious about scheduling tough opponents ever since she first took the job.

And tonight at 7, there’s yet another marquee matchup at Cameron Indoor Stadium.

The Blue Devils, ranked No. 3 in the latest AP poll, will put their undefeated (11-0) mark on the line against No. 4 and 10-0 Xavier.

The 11-0 mark is the best start in McCallie’s coaching career.

The series stands at one win apiece, with each team winning on the other’s home court. But the most recent meeting was 20 years ago.

The Blue Devils have won 37 straight home games in December.

Duke’s last loss at home to a team ranked lower than No. 3 in the country was to No. 4 Maryland during the 2007-08 season.
