Lucas, who won the award for the first time, averaged 20.3 points per game including a season-high 25 in the semifinal game with Illinois as the Tar Heels blew away Washington State, the Illini and then Hawaii in the final.

She had 14 assists against just six turnovers, shot 52 percent from the field, 40 percent from beyond the 3-point arc and 88 percent from the charity stripe.
