Ruffin McNeill has his signature victory in his first season as a head coach, and N.C. State is going to have to wait at least another week to be bowl-eligible.

Damon Magazu intercepted a Russell Wilson pass in the second overtime, preserving East Carolina’s 33-27 overtime win over the Wolfpack on Saturday.

Dominique Davis scored the overtime touchdown for the Pirates (4-2) from a yard out before Michael Barbour missed the extra point to leave the door open for the Wolfpack (5-2).

Davis completed 37 of 53 passes for 376 yards and two touchdowns, while Wilson completed 26 of 52 for 320 with one touchdown and three interceptions.

Barbour’s 32-yard field goal with 1:09 left in regulation had set up the overtime for the Pirates, who had led 21-0 after the first quarter.

Jonathan Williams scored the game’s first touchdown on the ground for ECU.

Wilson and Dean Haynes scored rushing touchdowns for the Wolfpack during its 21-point second quarter.
