Inspiring: This Man Became a U.S. Senator Without Reading the Constitution

U.S. Senator Thom Tillis is tired of being told to do his job, which is remarkable considering he doesn't seem to have any idea of what his job entails.

On Wednesday, Senators Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts and Mazie Hirono of Hawaii tried to confirm a batch of President Obama's judicial nominees. Luckily, our esteemed Senator from North Carolina heroically stopped them. From the Huffington Post:

“I’m not sure what version of the Constitution you’re reading that doesn’t say confirming judges is part of your job in the United States Senate,” Warren said.

“Of course confirming judges is part of the Senate’s job,” Hirono said. “In fact, only the Senate can do that.”

Tillis spokesman Daniel Keylin later declined to clarify to HuffPost why Tillis said it isn’t the Senate’s job to confirm judges. Instead, he criticized Democrats for “refusing to do their jobs” by using Senate floor time to request votes on judges when Republicans wanted to debate bills relating to veterans and troops.

“Rather than pontificating your own personal political views, you should refer back to his remarks, which put judicial confirmations into historical context,” Keylin said.

Thom. Daniel. Here's what the Constitution says, and we're even going to link to the Heritage Foundation's website just so you know it's not that got-damned liberal media helping Obungler burn the real Constitution and replace it with one that forces Franklin Graham to perform gay wedding ceremonies at gunpoint.

The President...shall nominate, and by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, shall appoint Ambassadors, other public Ministers and Consuls, Judges of the supreme Court, and all other Officers of the United States, whose Appointments are not herein otherwise provided for, and which shall be established by Law....

This isn't the first time Tillis has weaseled out of doing the job he was put in the Senate to do; back in December, he declined to denounce Donald Trump's call to ban Muslims from entering the country because of "procedure," since the vote was attached to a bill concerning nuclear terrorism. Tillis told McClatchy back then that he "didn't like the way the measure was introduced," even though the week prior to that, Tillis had voted for two gun amendments tacked onto a bill repealing the Affordable Care Act, and this stunt of tacking controversial provisions onto unrelated bills was a move he regularly pulled while he was the speaker of North Carolina's House of Representatives.

Tillis also recently said out loud that if he was Speaker of the House, he'd have "arrested" members of Congress (including civil rights icon and Georgia congressman John Lewis, who has seen his fair share of arrests at the hands of white people from the South) who did a sit-in at the House of Representatives to force a vote on gun control bills.

The hits just keep on coming.
