Yes, you do want five homeless, innocent, needy potbellied pigs

The Durham County Sheriff's Office will auction off a family of five tomorrow morning. The five potbellied pigs— two unweaned boys, two unweaned girls and the mom, who is probably tired of the whole thing—have been chilling out at the animal shelter since May 18, but no one has come forward to claim them.

Per the protocol for all auctions, whether it's an animal or a Honda Accord, the unclaimed goods are being sold as-is. In this case, as-is means they are pigs, and won't turn into cuddly kittens, but as you can see from photos at the bottom of the announcement, they're pretty adorable.

In fact, petMD says that potbellied pigs are social and quite intelligent. They don't like to be picked up, but do enjoy "snouting" with their caretakers. They need a lot of shade and dirt because their skin is very sensitive to the sun. They grow to be an average of 125 to 150 pounds, far less than a St. Bernard. And they live between 12–15 years, slightly less than a cat. So if you bid on these guys, you're in until the Year 2030. But joyous years they will be.

The sale is scheduled for 10 a.m. at the Durham County Animal Shelter, 2117 E. Club Blvd.
