Around 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Deborah Brown, 49, of Cary, was driving on Maple Avenue near SE Maynard Road when her black Lexus SUV collided with Paul Pham, 9, who was riding a bicycle.

Pham was transported to WakeMed in Raleigh where he later died; he was wearing a helmet.  Brown was not injured.

Speed and alcohol were ruled out as contributing factors. No charges were filed.

Following the accident Brown called 911 in a panic, praying out loud and asking emergency personnel to hurry.
