U.S. Supreme Court won't hear public campaign financing case

Posted by on Mon, Nov 3, 2008 at 12:31 PM

A federal court ruling upholding the constitutionality of public campaign financing for judicial candidates in N.C. will remain after the U.S. Supreme refused to hear the case, according to Under the Dome.

In Duke v. Leake, dukevleake, the N.C. Right to Life Committee had sought a reversal of the ruling by a 4th circuit court of appeals, stating the financing method violated its First Amendment right of free speech.
