Back in February, Heather McEntire celebrated the release of her debut solo album, Lionheart, at The Pinhook in Durham with two sold-out shows. Having led Mount Moriah for a number of years, McEntire has stepped out on her own with solo a release via Merge Records.

McEntire remains one of the best songwriters among the crowded and prestigious Triangle music scene, and these shows only furthered that reputation. Standout songs included, “Red Silo,” the chilling “One Great Thunder,” “Wild Dogs,” “Baby’s Got The Blues,” and the delightfully disco backbeat of a cover of Waylon Jennings' “Are You Sure Hank Done It This Way?”

Below are a handful of songs from the two night event at The Pinhook.

H.C. McEntire, "One Great Thunder"
