Durham has a few claims to fame: its long history with tobacco, its contributions to the blues, and, in more recent years, its minor-league Bulls baseball team (thanks, Kevin Costner). Tonight, a pair of more recent well-known Durham residents got up with the Durham Bulls for a little bit of fun.

The Bulls host regular local theme nights, where other local institutions join up with the Bulls On Sunday, it was Merge Records' turn, but tonight's game featured Durham-centric clothing brand Runaway Clothes for the second year. The company designed special hats and jerseys, and collaborated with the Bulls' in-house brewery, Bull Durham Beer Company, on a beverage.

For the game's ceremonial first pitch, Runaway called on its pals Amelia Meath and Nick Sanborn—aka Sylvan Esso—to do the honors. Rather than just one of them taking the shot, though, they both lobbed balls at the same time.

Sanborn's pitch doesn't quite make it over the plate, but Meath's assuredly does. You can watch slow-mo video shot by Dan Schram below.
