Des Ark's new Everything Dies, released earlier this month via Graveface Records, is one of the year's best local records. Full of lush arrangements and devastating songwriting, the "proper" follow-up to 2011's Don't Rock The Boat, Sink The Fucker has been well worth the wait. Now there's a new reward: The video for the standout "Snake Stuff" has premiered on NPR.

The video features some slightly unsettling imagery—larvae writhing in dirt, slugs sliding across vegetables, beet juice that looks like blood—but the soft lighting and gentle arrangement of the song make it all strangely soothing. Guitar strums and sparse pedal steel adorn the background behind the heavenly halos of Aimée Argote's vocals. And of course, every line packs a punch, like "Oh, I can't get over you/But I was born to run and you were born to see things through."

Watch the video below and take a few minutes to lie in the floor and contemplate your woes.
