In January, Tommy Edwards and Andrew Marlin convened at the North Carolina Museum of History for a rare public show. The set felt more like a peek into a jam session between buddies than a proper concert. The two have found a common language in bluegrass music, with each finding ways to learn from and bounce ideas off the other.

Before that museum show, they met at the former home of Bill and Charlie Monroe, the two brothers who were crucial to bluegrass' beginnings. Watch them play a Monroe Brothers tune below, and check out our other sessions featuring Alice Gerrard, Peter Rowan and Marshall Wyatt & Chatham County Line.
