Merge Records expands 25th anniversary lineup

Merge Records, a label that's always loved a good anniversary party, announced the final lineups for its four-day, 25th-anniversary celebration this morning. And what was already a great docket has now become kind of insane. On the fest's opening day, for instance, both William Tyler and Mount Moriah will open for Lambchop, who will (as previously announced) perform 2000's newly reissued Nixon in its entirety in Duke's Baldwin Auditorium. Tyler, of course, was a member of Lambchop for years, while Mount Moriah recorded last year's Miracle Temple with longtime Lambchop producer Mark Nevers. It's a brilliant bill.

Other additions include Reigning Sound, David Kilgour, Mike Cronin, Eleanor Friedberger, new signee Hiss Golden Messenger and eight others. Festival-long passes are sold out, though tickets remain for Thursday's show at Cat's Cradle and Saturday's outdoor show in Carrboro. Individual tickets for the aforementioned Lambchop bill go on sale April 22. Check the complete lineups after the jump.
