Hammer No More & Red Collar announce release extravaganzas (also, exclusive Hammer download here)

Posted by on Mon, Mar 2, 2009 at 9:22 PM

After both bands made much ado about the upcoming announcements for their respective release shows for their new records, I wondered aloud when Red Collar and Hammer No More the Fingers would come loose on the details behind the dates. They've finally let the information slip, and you should start saving the dates.

Yes. Yes. Yes.
  • Yes. Yes. Yes.

First up: Red Collar @ Triangle Brewing Company (Durham)

-Saturday, March 14, 7:30 p.m.

-With The Dry Heathens and The Bones Royal.

-$10 gets you in and a copy of the new album, Pilgrim.

-Weather permitting, outdoors.

-"Kinda like a house party, warehouse style."

And then: Hammer No More the Fingers @ Viking Storm (The Pinhook/ Duke Coffeehouse)

-Friday, April 3 (9 p.m.)-Saturday, April 4 (8:30 p.m.)

-Night One: Tooth, Caverns, The Bronzed Chorus, Pink Flag: $5

-Night Two: HNMTF, The Future Kings of Nowhere (!), The Dry Heathens, Deleted Scenes, The Beast: $10 gets you a copy of HNMTF's Looking for Bruce

-News of this one leaked over the weekend through a new Web site. The band's hinted at the festival for weeks with posters around Durham, and it's so great when teasing results in fulfillment. Good going, bros.

-Saturday's show will feature Triangle Brewing Company's Viking Storm, made especially for the night. Good going on both shows, TBC.

-OH, AND ALSO: Hammer recorded a track just for the festival entitled "We Pray for Viking Storm" with Tooth's J-ME Guptill. We heard it a few weeks ago, and—in finished form—it rules. It's like Hammer and J-ME channeling Amon Amarth, Death Angel and Megadeath at once. This is all to say it is awesome, and you should download it here.
