Zee Avi, Curtis Eller

When: Tue., Feb. 28, 9 p.m. 2012
Price: $10

Suggestive of a sober Amy Winehouse (Is that in bad taste? Whoops), Zee Avi mixes smooth vibes and a sweet voice in lo-fi, chill tunes that suggest an easy-listening version of stoner rock. From SXSW to Bonnaroo, she's put crowds in a trance of pleasant. Tonight she's joined by recent Durham addition Curtis Eller, who picks the banjo with a strong respect for old-timey roots behind darkened lyrics. —James Hatfield
