Zappa Plays Zappa

When: Mon., Sept. 14, 8 p.m. 2015
Price: $27-$106.13
The intricacy of Frank Zappa’s music became a sticking point for many a lay listener, but for fans, it’s a big part of the thrill and evidence of Zappa’s genius. Zappa Plays Zappa, led by Frank’s son Dweezil since 2009, revels in the man’s most challenging creations, like the byzantine “Peaches en Regalia,” which won them a “Best Rock Instrumental” Grammy in 2009. Tonight, the crew delivers a complete performance of 1975’s One Size Fits All, Zappa’s 20th and final record with the Mothers of Invention. It opens with “Inca Roads,” one of Zappa’s most complex tracks. —David Klein
