You Won't, The Tender Fruit

When: Sat., Oct. 26, 8:30 p.m. 2013
Price: $8-10
On last year's Skeptic Goodbye, Boston duo You Won't emerged as heirs apparent to the highly percussive and expressive indie rock that The Dodos and even Local Natives pushed to popularity. They broadcast their instant hooks emphatically, with simple textures reinforcing refrains. Live, they're louder, encasing the acoustics in a tarpaulin of distortion and pounding the drums with less preciousness. The Tender Fruit—the elegant emotional excavations of singer Christy Smith—opens. —Grayson Currin
