Yarn | Pour House Music Hall | Clubs & Concerts | Indy Week
This is a past event.
When: Wed., Nov. 24 2010
Price: $10

While the drums, saxophone and polished vocals may assure you Yarn designs its roots music for city slickers, the Brooklyn sextet hardly has intentions of remaining traditional. Grounded in frontman Blake Christiana's jam band past and influenced by both the Grateful Dead's American Beauty and Gram Parsons' discography, Yarn stretches Christiana's songs—in shapes of beer/ tear-filled barroom ballads and rowdy, boot-stomping rockers—across a framework of jaunty, noodly roots music. —Spencer Griffith
