Action/Adventure, SciFi/Fantasy

We may be approaching the saturation point with superhero films, but Bryan Singer's latest starring the X-Men does the comic-book movie about as well as one can, with a tight story, compelling characters and action sequences that are bananas, especially with speedster Quicksilver (Evan Peters). The time-travel story is based on a popular story arc from 1980s X-Men comics and features Hugh Jackman as the time-traveling Wolverine (a departure from the original story), plus Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique (whose moral choices play a critical role in the story).
