World Beer Festival

When: Sat., Oct. 5, 12-4 & 6-10 p.m. 2013
Price: $45-75
Head over to the Durham Bulls' old ballpark for the most indulgent afternoon of beer appreciation around. Geek out on the craft brewing knowledge of 90 breweries, hailing from around the country to around the corner, or see how many of the unlimited two-ounce samples of more than 300 different beers you can slug and rate. Can you find the hoppiest brew in the place? Will the Zombie Killer and Black Fang meads finally seduce you? Is this the year you finally succumb to home brewing? After you jam on live bands and beer seminars and exhaust your tasting glass, you can finish your buzz at establishments such as Geer Street Garden or Fullsteam, which are just a stumble away. —Chris Vitiello
