N.C. State's student radio station, WKNC 88.1 FM, will hosts its sixth annual Double Barrel Benefit Friday, Feb. 6, and Saturday, Feb. 7, at The Pour House in Raleigh. Four bands—Lonnie Walker, Lost in the Trees, Schooner and headliners Bowerbirds—play Friday, an evening programmed for more mellow sounds. But the rock kicks into high gear for Saturday, with Violet Vector & the Lovely Lovelies, I Was Totally Destroying It, Birds of Avalon and the new incarnation of Polvo scheduled.

Music begins at 9 p.m. both nights, and tickets ($7 in advance, $9 at the door) go on sale today at noon through wknc.org. WKNC funnels proceeds from its benefits into new station projects and purchases, including a live remote unit used to broadcast from outside of the studio.
