For the fourth year in a row, Bare Theatre presents a series of contemporary, original one-act plays, a tradition that began as an attempt by the company to push away from their typically Shakespearean material. This year's collection was compiled in part from original script submissions from local playwrights, and though the three short plays lack a cohesive theme, Bare Theatre is billing the new material as "an evening of entertainment that will amaze and thrill." A lofty claim, but judging by the ominous titles of the plays being presented—"The Hitler Youth Knife," "Fun House" and "The Tape Recorder"—as well as the fact that the evening will begin with a performance by Cirque de Vol Studios (a troupe specializing in aerial silks, acrobatics and fire dance), that claim may have merit. 8 p.m. Thursday–Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday. —Emma Miller
