This year's FilmSPARK 2016 starts off on September 15th at The Cary Theater, 122 E. Chatham St. in downtown Cary, North Carolina at 7pm with the documentary "Wilmington on Fire". "Wilmington on Fire" is a feature-length documentary about the 1898 massacre in Wilmington, NC that unseated an elected government and helped to create Jim Crow Segregation in North Carolina. Following the screening, the director will share his experience on making the film and discuss his perspective on the 1898 massacre and its impact today. Admission is free and open to the public.
