Wild Ponies, Greg Horne

When: Fri., Nov. 22, 8 p.m. 2013
Price: $10-12
Telisha Williams' sultry drawl drives Nashville's Wild Ponies. Songs such as the honky-tonk shuffle "Trouble Looks Good On You" and the wistful "Valentine's Day" work slow, mesmerizing grooves as Williams' comely coo circles. Husband Doug Williams harmonizes and trades lead lines, but this is Telisha's show, and she commandeers the stage. Their September debut, Things That Used to Shine, has an appropriately old-fashioned country feel. It's an evocative song cycle about abuse and recovery. Greg Horne opens. —Chris Parker
