Wild Belle, Snowmine

When: Mon., Oct. 21, 8:30 p.m. 2013
Price: $10-12
Siblings Natalie and Elliot Bergman didn't grow up hopping tropical islands, but you wouldn't know it from listening to their debut, Isles. The Chicago natives pull from jazz, electronica, reggae and soul to create indie pop lifted by an international vernacular. As the leader of Nomo—an Afrobeat-inspired, brass-focused outfit—Elliot's no stranger to exploring melting pots. Wild Belle repurposes that band's adventurous charm, offering up mellow jams with just the right amount of swagger. Brooklyn's Snowmine opens with their electro psych-pop. —Ashley Melzer
