Who's behind the robo-calls?

A D.C. nonprofit called Women's Voices Women Vote is apparently running a campaign of recorded phone calls that are confusing North Carolina voters into thinking they aren't registered to vote.

Breaking an exclusive on its blog, Facing South, the Institute for Southern Studies has all the details, a tape of a call and lots of background about similar controversies involving the group in other states. Read it here: southernstudies.org/facingsouth/2008/04/facing-south-exclusive-dc-nonprofit.asp.

Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama is planning to address the media regarding this issue at 3:45 p.m. today.
