What We're Up Against

When: Jan. 12-28 2018
Price: $15-$24

"This fucking woman stands there and says to me, 'This is my point, Stu. It's not about the work, it's about point of view. When a woman designs it, it's shit, and when a man designs it, it's great.' So I say to her, no this isn't about point of view, this is about power." In Theresa Rebeck's office dramedy, it's 1992, a time when a woman can get ahead in a competitive workplace like an architectural firm—that is, as long as she knows her place, doesn't rock any boats, and waits her turn for advancement. But who decides when it's her turn? Sexist overseers like senior architect Stu. Two months after its triumphant off-Broadway premiere, Heather Strickland helms this Raleigh Little Theatre production at William Peace University's Leggett Theatre while RLT's home theater is being renovated. The notable cast includes Samantha Corey, Benji Taylor Jones, Brian Westbrook, and Simon Kaplan. —Byron Woods
