Wendy Webb

When: Sat., Feb. 1, 11 a.m. 2014
No relation to the 1988 Danish thriller movie (or its American remake), Wendy Webb's new gothic novel, The Vanishing, concerns the widow of a Ponzi schemer who finds herself employed by a reclusive horror novelist believed dead by the world, whose mysterious estate holds DEADLY SECRETS. Webb is the winner of the 2011 Minnesota Book Award for genre fiction and the editor of Duluth-Superior Magazine, thus proving once again that Minnesota is an underrated breeding ground for thrillers. Check out the late Thomas M. Disch's works if you don't believe me. —Zack Smith
