Weather Warlock

When: Wed., Sept. 16, 6 p.m. 2015
Price: $10
The Weather Warlock is a contraption designed by one-man-band and accomplished tinkerer Quintron. Weather Warlock is the band he built to feature it. The huge analog synthesizer is able to convert unpredictable weather stimuli—drops of rain, gusts of wind, sun-beams, air temperature—into a steadily burbling drone. Lineups have changed constantly, attracting high-profile improvisers from wherever the gear is unloaded. (A recent New York show featured Sonic Youth drummer Steve Shelley, Sean Lennon, Nels Cline and members of the Sun Ra Arkestra.) Since the Warlock is only fully viable at sunrise or sunset, this performance starts early. —Jeff Klingman
