Don't phone home, call Madonna. The pop star is the director and co-screenwriter of this film about the love affair between King Edward VIII and Wallis Simpson that led the king to abdicate the throne. (W.E. stands for Wallis and Edward.) It's told through the eyes of 1998 New Yorker Wally Winthrop, played by Abbie Cornish, whose obsession with the love story uncovers a dark truth. If the reviews in the English press are true, this film promises to be everything you would expect from a movie directed by Madonna.
