Re: “Cops: gun shot residue found on dead teen's hands

One must ask, why does Jose Lopez only comment after a demonstration?

Re: “Raleigh discusses homeless policy; state steps in

Well done Governor McCrory.

The real question for Raleigh why the "education" campaign now? The ordnance has not been enforced for 14 years. As I read the ordnance there is no criminal penalty, so why are the police "educating?" Is there a specific problem? Raleigh has no liability unless they waive immunity so it cannot be a liability concern. Raleigh needs to provide some answers.

Re: “Re: Sidney Harr responds

1. The autopsy report is not fraudulent. Indeed, the defense obtained an expert at state expense. That expert agreed with the findings of the autopsy.

2. Duke University is not responsible for Daye's death. He would never have been there had Crystal Gail Mangum not stabbed him. That makes her responsible.

3. The larceny in chose of action charge is supported by probable cause and it does not require an eye witness.

4. There is no vendetta against Mangum. She's the one who stabbed Daye. Anyone who stabs and kills is going to find themselves facing criminal charges.

Re: “Holden vs. Butch: Collision of cultures at UNC

Thorp's problem is the same as Butch Davis' problem. Neither one of them is very good at their job. Davis doesn't really win that much and his teams have been overrun with miscreants. Thorp doesn't lead well and when confronted with a decision to make he usually makes things worse rather than better. Good that Davis is gone, time for Thorp to join him.
