Re: “Where to trim the budget when there's nothing left

The NC finance has said that spending last year was the lowest in decades. This means there is NOTHING ELSE TO CUT.

This is my fifth year teaching and I have NEVER NEVER NEVER had a raise. Now I don't know if I am going to have a job because instead of leaving taxes at the current rate and trying to close the gap somehow, they want to decrease revenue while they attempt to close the same gap. This means a possible 30,000 state employees without a job. They are also talking about decreasing our salary by 2-days of pay next year.

I have a a college degree, a master's degree and next year will be my 6th year teaching and I'll barely make 33K. And since our insurance premiums have increased, my take home pay is LESS than 2/3 of that each month. What in THE HELL is wrong with this picture??
