Re: “Your Participation is Mandatory: The INDY’s 2016 Primary Endorsements

Hillary Clinton has studied harder--under the tutelage of Henry Kissinger.

In 2008, The Independent Weekly got it right when they rejected this war hawk, worrying about her belligerent threats against Iran and calling her "divisive, smug and, at times, even contradictory."

Very disappointing.

Re: “Is the Durham Co-Op Market betraying its progressive roots?

"[M]ost employees earn less than $10 an hour—below the Durham Living Wage Project's $12.53-an-hour threshold..."

What's the point of this store if they're not providing a living wage to all employees? The prices are higher than Whole Foods and now they're trying to strip away worker's seat at the table.

Why should I shop there?

Is this just a vanity project for wealthy (white) people?

Re: “12 Years a Slave

The director, Steve McQueen is not an "African-American." He is British.

Re: “Triangle Soundpainting Orchestra at The Pinhook

Wrong. No clarinet. No guitar. There was, however, an oboe and ukulele.

Re: “I.O.U.S.A.

Hey David. I think you're being a little bit too neutral by using the words "credible military." As I'm sure you know, the U.S. could cut regular military spending by 75% and still spend more than any other nation. Making this cut--along with ending the oil wars--would go a long ways towards balancing the budget. Many nations borrow to fund their operations, and the U.S., still possessing the world's reserve currency, could certainly handle the modest debt left after it abandoned its insane military addiction. I would have used the words "maintain an imperial military."
