@Douglas Smith: Removing monuments that valorize literal traitors and people who defended the institution of slavery is not anything like 1984, besides the actual removal of statues. The comparison to 1984 is willfully obtuse, though. Books about the Confederacy aren't going away, and neither are museums. However, statues that promote the ahistorical "Lost Cause" theory of the Confederacy, and that intimidate minorities, do not serve a positive purpose in public spaces. Germany isn't going to forget World War II or the Holocaust just because there aren't any Nazi statues there.

@Gladdek there aren't any zip codes that went from from $999,999 to $1,000,000 because that would be an increase of only 0.0001%.
