Re: “Derek Walker remembered

Lets not place blame and make it a "right or wrong" issue. The catalyst that led Derek Walker to his death was not Family Court, however it was the person or people the utilized the judicial system to their advantage and made it work for them. I have been on both sides of Family Court, as an consumer and as an employee. Without disclosing any confidential information that isn't public record, Mr. Walker was on my case load when I was a Family Court Case Manager here in District 14. We have to allow the system to work for us, most of us have patience and others don't. I hate this happened to Mr. Walker and I truly felt helpless that our community leaders along with our appointed and elected officials are only there for a check. Let's focus on a lost life here and the son/another child without a father. I attended the Wake and funeral and I am still hurt behind this event!
