Voices from Tobe

When: Tue., Oct. 21, 5 p.m. 2014
Price: free
When the UNC Press published Tobe in 1939, the book broke ground as one of the first realistic portrayals of African American individuals and communities in children’s literature. To mark the book’s 75th anniversary, a panel discussion titled “Voices from Tobe” will bring together individuals who appeared in the book, their descendants and neighbors, and members of the two North Carolina communities involved in its creation.
