No matter how much time you've spent watching the Hallmark Channel or how many Nicholas Sparks books you've read, you've likely never encountered two people so keen on PDA as Michael and Carissa Alvarado, the young California singer-songwriters known as US. Within months of launching the project, the two were married. Their limited discography of polished love songs and smiling covers—each as tender as a Saturday morning cuddle—exists entirely in a honeymoon glow, with not a cross word seeming to exist between the two. Michael is a strong multi-instrumentalist, and Carissa's voice is a feather bed of feelings. But it's hard not to get a little sugar-sick after only a tune or two, even when they're turning Rihanna songs into shameless love numbers. You hate to wish hard times on young love, but maybe that would make US a little more like the rest of, you know, us—and a lot more palatable, too. —Grayson Haver Currin
