Unlisted: A Story of Schizophrenia

When: Wed., Oct. 13, 7 p.m. 2010
Price: Free

The National Alliance on Mental Illness presents Dr. Delaney Ruston's documentary about her relationship with her father, whose lifelong battle with paranoid schizophrenia drove a wedge between them. The film chronicles Ruston's efforts to reconnect with her father after years of using an unlisted number and address to hide from him, and it depicts her conflicts with other family members and her effort to get her father the proper treatment and keep him from going off his meds. A thoughtful examination of the nature of mental illness and the failings of the American health care system, Unlisted screens for free at 7 p.m. —Zack Smith
