University Theatre's Arcadia

When: Wednesdays-Sundays. Continues through Oct. 6 2013
Price: $5-18
We'd like to think that we leave a mark upon our place in the world, not haunting it like a ghost but writing ourselves upon it in a way that contributes forever to what goes on there. Arcadia, often called British playwright Tom Stoppard's finest play, moves back and forth between the 19th and 20th centuries in the rooms of an English country house, with the temporally separate but linked storylines gradually becoming simultaneously staged. A philosophical mystery, Arcadia shows Stoppard at his humorous, intellectual best, and it's always interesting to see how the director and set designer handle the staging of it. N.C. State's University Theatre gets its chance in this two-week run. —Chris Vitiello
