When: Wed., Feb. 1, 8:30 p.m. 2012
Price: $12-15

As Tycho, San Francisco producer Scott Hansen makes beats for the sort of sunsets that saturate the horizon with gold. The soft propulsion of his rhythms and the twinkling tones of his programmed guitars and keyboards are quantifiable enough, but there's a mystical sort of romanticism within his largely simple mixes of Krautrock, film music and IDM. On Dive, his 2011 debut for Ghostly International, very little is flashy or revelatory, but the music remains impossibly narcotic, drifting until it sweeps you in its own wash. He's a venerated graphic designer whose style as ISO50 matches his music's demeanor; don't be surprised to yield similarly to his live presentation. —Grayson Currin
