Twin Sister, Lilac Shadows, Jenny Besetzt

When: Tue., May 14, 9 p.m. 2013
Price: $8-10

Twin Sister is perfectly chillwave, loaded with late-night and early '80s character. The Long Island band is ideal for those who prefer re-imagined disco steeped in low-lidded ennui but likely won't make converts of anyone who hasn't cared for the style in the past. Locals Lilac Shadows inhabit that same sleepless, twilit zone, though the members' wide-ranging experience in everything from The Huguenots' clean-cut pop to TOW3RS' postmodern earworm flurries lend exceptional nuance. Greensboro atmospheric powerhouse Jenny Besetzt opens the show. —Corbie Hill
