Re: “Questions loom about group proposing Raleigh charter school

As a foreign language teacher, we can’t separate language and culture. Our school offers Turkish and Spanish. Both foreign language classes teach their cultures. I can’t imagine an interesting and fun foreign language class without traditions, foods and music of that culture. That’s why I don’t think the international or Turkish culture should be emphasized in the charter application or mission. Additionally, I think introducing different cultures is very important for a bright American generation in this global world.
