Re: “Durham City Council votes against 751 South annexation, expects state retaliation

This is article sums up the situation very well...... but you left out the suspense at the Council meeting before the votes came in...... we were all on the edge of our seats. It was too late to stay and thank the Council in person, and I hope all concerned about this issue will send them a thank you email. It took allot of courage to vote as they did.
After hearing the Mayor I was able to understand his difficult position and his desire to protect Durham. Now we need to Stand Strong for the Durham and let our State representative know that threats and bullying is not the way we want the State run. A bill to force annexation is not good government.

Re: “Southern Durham Development tries to influence commissioners' race

i am sorry but the first day i volunteered at the polls i was guilty of interrupting the woman passing out the Southern Durham Development flyers. I was rude and worked very hard today to keep the peace while i was at a poll site.

I love America and the conflicts and discussions are what many people have died to protect.

I do however feel that these differences of opinions should NOT BE BOUGHT by Super Pacs or BIG Corporations.

Re: “Southern Durham Development tries to influence commissioners' race

Well i could criticize thebadge1 comments on spelling or typing alone but I don't do either one very well myself.
What I do pursue is the truth, and i do know that with all the money of Southern Durham Developers have to use on the campain to endorse Howerton,Page, Bowser, and Pagett they don't need much money themselves to run a campaign.
I also know that having money or NOT having money or big house is NOT the criteria for a GOOD candidate.

Re: “Southern Durham Development gives $50K to developer's Super PAC

Could they be more obvious about trying to buy this race solely for their own profit and getting their monstrous misplaced development on Jordan lake,
This SUPER PAC invading local politics is really scary to the future of Durham politics.

Re: “$142K in property taxes past due for 751 South

How interesting that they don't pay their property taxes ON TIME, when one of their arguments in the lawsuit was that the NCDOT didn't return the deed through proper channels.
When are they going to pay their property taxes "through proper channels?"

Re: “751 South case delayed; new plan could produce more runoff

they can make all their pretty little plans on paper and run up attorney fees BUT THE CITY DOES NOT HAVE TO GIVE THEM WATER!!!!!!!!!!

These developers can wine and dine the county commissioners and the county attorneys and give them huge donations to their campaigns, but we can show them that THE CITY OF DURHAM HAS INTEGRITY!!!!

This development will only COST CITY TAX PAYERS who will be providing the services the county doesn't do..... and it is not profitable according to all the city numbers for the city to annex.....

Re: “Durham City Council postpones any action on 751 South until pending litigation clears

I wish some one would " write the book" about this..... think it could be a best seller.......
it has all the elements of a great mystery......( money, power, corruption, good, evil, truth, deception, lies, politics, and even some very kooky characters.....
not to mention an gorgeous beautiful natural lovely 160 acres of North Carolina land and lake.......(reminds me of the Pelican Brief)..... Ok Julia Roberts are you ready...... and Denzel I am sure would play Senator Dan Blue.....
