When: Tue., Aug. 16, 9 p.m. 2016
Alexandra Brandon, aka Trnsgndr/VHS, currently lives in Baltimore. That city’s spirit of musical experimentation pervades her work, which sounds like a waterlogged synth gradually choking on smoke from an electrical fire. The glitchy, abstruse music on the Condominium EP isn’t for beginners and can safely be filed under noise, though you might be surprised at how often your neck bobs at the punchy beats that creep in. Los Angeles’s Dawn Raid shares the bill, as do Blursome, De_Plata, and Karl Raymar. —David Ford Smith
