Transactors Improv for Families

When: Sat., May 10, 6 p.m. 2014
Price: $6-$9

Walking into Transactors' family-friendly shows, you never know what kind of wild characters you'll find on stage. A pirate giving vocal lessons? Sure. A tap-dancing lawyer? Of course. The audience designs the performance with its suggestions, and the actors—here including Anoo Brod, Bart Hubbard and Steven Warnock—are more than happy to ham it up. With short scenes and improv games, the performers keep things high-energy and interactive, pleasing both the preschoolers down front and the adults giggling in the back. "The family show's just silly and fun," says Brod. "It's really satisfying to do a show that kids and adults both enjoy. I don't know how that works; it kind of just does." —Ashley Melzer
