Trae Pierce & the T-Stone Band

When: Fri., June 19, 9 p.m. 2015
Price: $8-$10
Earlier this year, Megafaun’s Phil Cook referred to a show by Trae Pierce, with whom Cook worked on the Blind Boys of Alabama’s I’ll Find A Way, as a “chance to restore some faith in humanity.” Pierce has earned multiple Grammys while backing the Blind Boys on bass, but he’s also played with James Brown, Dr. Hook and The Ohio Players. As leader of the T-Stone Band, Pierce takes his brand of space funk on a ride through Delta blues, psychedelic rock, Southern gospel and vintage R&B. —Spencer Griffith
