Re: “Cry of Love vocalist Kelly Holland died depressed, but not alone

Kelly gave me some terrific pointers on how to get the most out of my voice. I own a tiny music business at OBX now and use his advice every time I sing. Yes, he was his own worst enemy in many ways, but he was a joy to most; talented, witty beyond belief, and a force to be reckoned with. He once told me that he felt like Aretha Franklin was his most powerful influence while listening to the radio as a little boy in the mountains. Her influence and his country twang gave him a unique presence in a band. We had a falling out toward the end of his days, but I never lost my love and respect for him. Miss him.
