Tom Spector

When: Thu., Feb. 23, 7 p.m. 2012

Those who have witnessed the effects of severe illness and death know firsthand the existential challenges of this stage of life. The saying goes that there are no atheists in foxholes, but people under duress suffer no matter what religious creed they subscribed to during their lives. Tom Spector has nearly four decades of experience teaching meditation and healing in the Triangle, and his new book, Our Two Gardens: How to Cultivate Healing, promises techniques for coping with stress and illness and achieving inner peace. His talk at the Regulator begins at 7 p.m. —David Fellerath
