Tim Carter Bang Bang Tour

When: Wed., July 31, 8 p.m. 2013
Price: $16
Tim Carter might be familiar as half of country-blues duo the Carter Brothers Band. He and guitarist/brother Danny signed to Compass for their fourth album, 2011's The Road to Roosky, full of slithery, raw-boned stuff. Tim's sole solo album, 2007's Bang Bang, has a more mountain backwoods flavor, lit by his crisp, summery tenor and his keen blend of bluegrass, Celtic and folk traditions. "I Can't Settle Down," for instance, sounds like an Appalachian Byrds. He'll bring a band with him. —Chris Parker
