Tim Barry, Sam Russo, Charles Latham (Back Room)

When: Thu., April 16, 8 p.m. 2015
Price: $10-$12
Tim Barry isn’t the first punk to recast himself as world-weary folkie. He might be the most enduring. The novelty of hearing the former Avail frontman sing story songs has long worn off, but Barry’s roughneck charm remains. “Music should sound like escape,” he sings on 2012’s 40 Miler. “Not rent.” He sounds like he means it. —Patrick Wall
