Charlie Stratton's erotic thriller is based on Émile Zola's novel Thérèse Raquin. Set in 1860s Paris, it finds a repressed beauty named Thérèse (Elizabeth Olsen) forced into a loveless marriage by her aunt (Jessica Lange). Thérèse's affair with her husband's friend upends all their lives.
